We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher to join a supportive specialist provision in Milton Keynes, working with students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This part-time role starts in September 2025 and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people with additional needs.

As an ASC Teacher, you will lead engaging, structured, and sensory-friendly lessons tailored to students’ unique communication, learning, and behavioural needs. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure all learners are supported to reach their full potential in a calm, inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver individualised education plans (IEPs) and structured lesson content for learners with ASC

  • Use strategies including visual supports, PECS, Makaton, and sensory integration to meet diverse communication and sensory needs

  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and SENCOs to provide holistic support and consistency across learning and behaviour plans

  • Track and assess progress regularly, adapting strategies in response to each learner’s needs

  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing regular updates and engaging them in the learning journey

  • Foster a positive, predictable classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and understood

  • Stay informed on best practices in ASC education through ongoing professional development

  • Apply positive behaviour support techniques, including de-escalation and low-arousal approaches, to manage challenging behaviours effectively

Requirements:
  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent in Special Education

  • Proven experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Condition, ideally in a specialist or SEN setting

  • Strong understanding of ASC, sensory processing differences, and communication strategies

  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills to work with a wider SEN team and parents

  • A nurturing, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching

  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and professional growth

Additional Information:
  • Supply Desk offers a £100 referral bonus for successful recommendations of teachers or support staff who complete 5+ shifts

  • You will be supported by a dedicated SEN consultant and offered access to specialist CPD opportunities
